Hey guys
So I won a free airline ticket this past winter and I am hoping to use it to go up to Montreal for the GP the first weekend in June. I was wondering if anyone that lives in Montreal would be willing to let me stay at their place for maybe 4-5 nights (I'd be out all day). I am 21 but I'm quite mature and not a huge drinker/partier so I wouldn't be coming back drunk at night or trying to have people over or anything crazy. The closer to/in the city, the better! Let me know if anyone would be down with this. I'd be willing to pay a bit too.

Thanks!

(Mods - feel free to move this, wasn't sure the best place to put it)

Maybe PD would let you stay in his dental office?

When I went to the GP in Montreal I rented a room at the McGill dorms for mega cheap...like $20 a night. It was a 5 minute walk to the metro station, which took me straight to the race (Best mass transit system I have ever experienced).

I think I'm going to look into McGill. Sounds like a steal and I actually visited there when I was searching around for schools so I've at least been around the campus before a few times. Great location too for getting down to the GP. If anyone from DS wants to meet up at the GP let me know cause I may be traveling up there by myself (none of my friends/relatives have the money or interest in F1 to go)

McGill dorms are a good way to spend the night. They're very cheap and downtown. I plan on going to the Monreal GP as well. I have to purchase tickets soon. I was hoping to get another VIP package from one of my dental produt suppliers but they stopped offering them this year. I'm hoping to get seats near the slow corners.

I'm not going to see the GP, but I'd be up to meet another DS member! I will probably be covering the events around the Gp for www.intunedonline.com. I'm not close enough to downtown, so my place wouldn't be that great, I'm about 45min - 1h of bus + metro to the track.

Does anyone know about General Admission to the Montreal GP? It's only $100 for the whole weekend which is an incredible deal, but do you still get good views, etc? Would it be worth another almost $200 to be in a grandstand? I've never been to a GP so I want to make sure I do it right, but keep it at a reasonable amount of cash.

I shelled out the extra cash for a seat.

The $100 access passes let you watch from a few OK locations, like near the hairpin, but if you act fast and buy tickets now, some of the cheap seats are truly first class.

Also, don't just go from the dorm to the track and back again, the entire city celebrates the GP. They close down whole streets and let car clubs fill them with exotic cars. The times I have gone the Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini and BMW clubs put on shows, and the BMW Williams car even made an appearance at one of the BMW club events. It was car lover heaven.

Also, in addition to the shows, exotic cars litter the entire city...you can't go 10 meters without hearing a V12.

I'm very jealous of anyone whose going, but my wife would skin me if I spent that much money on a race when we're expecting.

At times like this I'm glad I live 10 min from Montreal.

So who all is planning on going to the GP this year? It is June 6-8. It would be great to have a little DS meet & greet and hang out at the GP together.
