I got a decent deal here locally on a 2002 VW GTI and went for it. It is HUGE improvement over my 2.0 8v gti. I am still getting used to driving a turbo car. Anyways, here are the pictures

Another VW? I thought you would've learned the first time tongue.gif

No seriously, it looks pretty nice though. Love those rims and the 3dr body.

Looks good... how many miles?
Asher
You need to get the back trim pieces in black, too, that'd look sweet. And aren't those VR6 wheels?

Anyway, I like it, very handsome.
Bjorn
I've never driven a GTI, based on their popularity here I'm interested in giving one a go.

Nope, they're just the 17" Monte Carlo (aka Santa Monica) rims. They were optional on all GTIs, from 2001 through mid-2002. They also came on the VR6 Jetta GLI (pre-facelift).

Nah, he needs to get the front bumper insert/trim in Reflex Silver (I am assuming your Stateside cars aren't sprayed Satin Silver by the way).

Looks like a nice tidy car though. Are there any mk4 Golfs in the U.S. that didn't have leather? Its the other way around here! By the way, can anyone tell me what the thing is on the transmission tunnel just in front of the passenger-side seat?
Bjorn
I think they call that an "arm rest".

I've never had a car with one of those...My Mom's SUV has one, and all it does is get in the way...up or down.

I was smart and got cloth.

^I hate leather seats, awful when cold, awful when warm and you slide around like nobody's business.

I hope one day to own a high-end car, but mandatory leather is a deal breaker.

Sorry Bjorn - I meant actually on the transmission tunnel down near the footwell! Like the arm rest though, wonder if one would retro-fit into my Polo... DS_Naughty2.gif

it's a little vent of some sort. Honestly I'm not 100% sure; I don't think it's for the HVAC output but it might be like an intake or something.

You are crazy, leather seats rule! although they have to be heated for them to work during winter.

Nice pick up, looks very clean... Whats with the unpainted front bumper mounlding tho? Paint match ASAP, that would be my first thing on the list. thumbs_up.gif

I have just always found them to be really uncomfortable, I always feel like my skin can't breathe in a leather seat...and I'm also always worried about what I have in my pockets, in case I damage them...

I think it gives it a very euro look, almost sleeper status.

The car is at 70 K miles. As for the mods, im planning on keeping her completely stock. I just want to be able to do regular maintenance and keep the car till i finish college. As for the leather, it really doesnt bother me and girls seem to love it smile.gif
For comparison, heres my other car, the one i sold.
