Looks to be the most interesting Le Mans since I started paying attention!

My Porsche Fanboi side is gonna have to fight my Mazda Fanboi side in LMP2

Really hope the Aston LMP1 project can pull off a decent finish.

^is that a factory backed car?

I have seen some spy-shots of a closed cockpit LMP car which was apparently being built by Aston...is this the same car?

It is not a factory backed car and they did not build it. It is a Lola chassis. Prodrive however is involved in its development and testing.

Yeah as NP said Lola chassis, Aston engine and Prodrive are running pretty much everything, even at the race despite it being under the Charouz name - or so I've been told by an employee. I've seen a picture of it testing too, in bare carbon form, looking good though!

I wonder, with the Diesels of the R10s and 908s is there any hope of a petrol powered LMP1 car keeping up the pace?

I'm also shocked that Creation is still running cars...I watched that "road to LeMans" show, and from what I could see they needed to make some major changes to their team dynamic to simply finish...forget about winning.
tune
Well if the diesels have good luck then not really, but last year I think a Pescarolo was on the same lap as the Peugeot at the end (I think).
