Hello boys and girls!

I've been quiet over the last few months whilst running the car around in "winter spec" (steels, extremely relaxed cleaning schedule etc) but have squeezed in a couple of small upgrades!

Upgraded to Lupo GTi aero wipers on the front, and purchased a Polo 9N3 Bluemotion rear aero wiper but haven't yet fitted it. Still deciding either to fit it, or run the car with no rear wiper at all?

Secondly, needed a replacement front windscreen recently so took the opportunity to swap my standard beige/grey rear-view mirror to a Lupo GTi satin black item whilst the glass was being replaced. Pic:

As for the BBS RM wheels that I dented one of last year, they are being split and new (stainless steel) wider dishes are going on. Will be running 1" dishes up front and 1.5" dishes at the rear, therefore making the wheels 7x15 (front) and 7.5x15 (rear), on a 195/45/15 tyre thumbs_up.gif

Cheers

Wow, you're really into spending on little details...save up and buy some go-faster parts.

He drives a polo, it doesnt need to go fast. I like seeing how he takes care of his car.

As long as he doesn't mind when he's got to go sell it...you don't get any return on things like this.

I'd keep the wiper. I'm often wishing I had a rear wiper, it's so nice in the snow/heavy rain.

from my experience you often don't see any return on modifications, no matter what kind. I know a non modified civic here will fetch more than a modified car with the same Km's

Thanks goota, spot on! Its never going to be a quick car, just a warm hatch rather than a hot hatch. Performance-wise, I have an exhaust and air filter, and all that is left after that is a stainless manifold and a performance chip to see maybe 140bhp (125bhp standard). Unless I throw megabucks at it and get a tried-and-tested 1.8 20vT engine swap, its never going to be fast!

And thanks, unfortunately its is always going to be the way that any mods will see no return on resale value. In fact, the wrong mods will send it the other way and I'll lose out come sale time... but I don't mind biggrin.gif

Cheers

Continuing the OEM theme, I have this to fit soon, once the weather dries up a little:

It is a Golf mk5 "shark-fin" aerial that has been adapted to connect to my Polo (the standard aerial wiring does not connect to the older cars).

Three advantages: firstly it replaces my perished standard aerial base, secondly it is a one-piece unit, so it cannot be unscrewed and stolen unlike the standard item, and thirdly its gonna look great!!

I got one of those in my car thumbs_up.gif
