The FIA has requested Renault appear before the World Motor Sport Council next month over allegations that the team had unauthorised possession of confidential data belonging to rivals McLaren.

The hearing will take place in Monaco on December 6th, 2007

I wonder if Renault will be able to pay Alonso now, what with a $100,000,000 fine on the horizon, and if Alonso would take a chance joining a team which could be banned from the 2008 season.

Well unless the car was actually removed from the grid and no drivers championship points could be scored, given the opportunity, he'd probably still race.

As Jenson Button once said, every driver is in this for himself, anything they say otherwise is just fluff!

Button is the man, I really hope Honda can give him a competitive car this season, otherwise he needs to get the hell out. Also, scandals in F1, stop please thanks.

I agree about Button. I thought that he had a real chance at the championship. I even had my name on his car! I wonder if they are going to continue the earth car idea for next year?

Yeah I think he is a good driver, not as blisteringly quick as Raikkonen, Alonso and Hamilton, but in a good car he's on a par with Massa. I know Massa can be really quick on his day, just look at his fastest lap count, but he seems to lack that harsh determination to push and win.

I personally think Button's just as quick as the Raikkonen and all, it's just his car that's holding him back.

^I don't know...he doesn't seem to have that cold hearted drive that would appear to be common in world champions. I could see button winning it in a fucked up season, where it was anyone's game right up till the end...but he's definitely no Schumacher, Alonso or Raikkonen.
