Just played Need for speed Pro street Demo


and it really really sucks , well the rendering and the car models are ok.

but the gameplay is waaaaaaaaaaaay bad

god even carbon was better than that.


i miss NFSMW.

After playing the first Underground, I just gave up on Need For Speed...I miss when the game was just about driving fast exotics and out running police but the whole "Fast & Furious" style turned me off.

I played it as well last night. Miserable game.

The handling is extremely basic, like they were trying so hard to make it real that they went too far. The "clutch" button isn't necessary to make shifts in manual.

My first (and only) time playing I set the game to "King" difficulty (hardest) and manual transmission and beat both races first try by a longshot. Too easy.

The two race types in the demo are "Grip" (Circuit with a fancy name) and "Speed" (Speed Trap on a long highway in the desert and a fancy name). The other TWO (yes two, not three, not five) race types are Drift and Drag. There's literally nothing new at all. The "Grip" (Circuit) track was a poor copy of what looks like a Project Gotham track, and the "Speed" course was a long, gradually bendy road through the Nevada desert. Nothing cool there either.

The cars... E92 M3 and Nissan GT-R. Both of them handled identically and had the exact same feeling to the transmission and brakes.

The ONLY cool thing about all of this was the damage model for each car. Headlights could become smashed, bumpers and hoods torn clean off... you get the idea. However, it's still worse than the one in DiRT, so there really is nothing good about this game.

Dammit. I was hoping this was gonna be a good one. Just out of curiosity, what system did you play it on, 360 I assume?

Yeah. The control information picture showed Left Bumper as Clutch, and I got all excited... until I learned that it doesn't do a thing.

That's gay. Well that's one game I can skip this Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa.

I can vouch that the PS3 one was crap as well.

Did anyone expect anything different? The last good NFS was Porsche Unleashed. Everything after was shit.

Hot Pursuit 2 was pretty damned good in my book, and even Most Wanted was pretty fun.

I had NFS Underground 2 when I first got my PS2 slimline console. Quite enjoyed it and have bought every NFS game released since then up until last year's Carbon. Sold my PS2 earlier this year and was tempted to go after a new console and a copy of NFS Pro Street but thanks to you guys I no longer will be!!

I agree with the majority here though, MW was the best of the bunch.

A friend of mine downloaded the demo for his PS3, and said he liked it. That friend also has horrible taste in movies, video games, women, and cars...so I'm going to have to go over and play it before I can say anything. I'm not expecting much though.

the best was Ford GT90 in NFS 2 SE....

then i start to love simulators like Live for Speed.....

Take it from me. I used to be an NFS fan, and then TDU happened. I've never gone back after comparing the quality of the games.

i used to be (and maybe still will be) a huge NFS fan and i can proudly say that i loved all the NFS games i've played....that would be... porche something can't remember, underground 1, underground 2, MW, and carbon....i miss underground one though. i loved the way you tuned the car.

i tried pro street on NDS....not too bad for a DS game....

I wanna pick up a fun DS game, but have no idea what to get. Anyone got any ideas? I have Super Mario DS, MarioKart DS, and Megaman ZX.

get yourself a R4DS..... (obviously you don't have to get it at this store....)
