So I was using BitComet for a while before being told it sucked for a bunch of reasons I didn't bother looking into. Anyway, uTorrent is supposed to be fantastic, and so far I'm actually a bit astonished. Why are my download speeds so much better and my upload speeds basically 0? I have a quite large upload rate maximum.
Thanks for any insight!

You might need to open up your Bittorrent port in your router so more people can connect to you. If you go options -> preferences -> connection, you can see which port that uTorrent it using (it's changeable btw). Then once you see what it is (or set a new one for yourself, doesn't really matter), go into your applications tab under your router (or similar, depending on brand/model) and open up that port on your IP. Setting a static IP on your machine would certainly help with that.

utorrent also has a lil thing at the bottom-middle of the application that tells you how your connection is acting(good/bad)

But why is it so fast? Is there not a fundamental difference in the way that BitComet and uTorrent work? I thought there was.

It's all to do with connection afaik. I don't think the client would make any major difference.

It could have to do with the tracker...I know some trackers ban or restrict clients that they don't like, and BitComet is commonly one of the least favored clients, whereas uTorrent isn't. Normally it's an all-or-nothing affair, but maybe you're seeing speed increases because of that.

Not being able to make active connections can limit the number of peers you can connect with. Passive-only may work but not have the same speed as active capability.
