Yeah that motorsport one is the latest (unless its a time zone difference) and it says he's confirmed dead but the cause of the crash is unknown.

I found out just now here on DS then Googled the news pages. Very sad indeed. His son Johnny was 5 years old.
Rally is such an underappreciated motorsport here in the US. He was amazing.

...and then Dave Richards (Prodive and Aston Martin owner) crashed his helicopter. Thankfully he and his wife survived however.

This one is a little close to home for me.
I'm only 50 odd miles from where he lives.
He's a man I look up to as N.0.1 Rally driver in the world - a true idol and Scottish legend. ::No Fear::
My heart goes out to his family in these hard times.
Rest In Peace Colin and Jonny and those involved in the accident.
Still can't believe this has happened to a man who can be described with so many nice words :yes i'm shedding a tear or two:
