The most interesting news is an Astra-based 9-1 Aero hot hatch. The five-seat crossover (presumably Antara/2008 Vue-based) might not set anyone's hair on fire, but could at least help Saab get on its feet financially. Reviews of the 2008 Vue say it handles well for the segment, feels solid, has a nice interior, but is to pricey and heavy for a non-luxury car.

What I'm wondering is this. So long as Saab is abandoning its FWD-only roots (the new "cross-wheel-drive" 9-3s, for example) and borrowing Saturn platforms left and right, would it be too much to ask to get a Sky-based Sonnett coupe? Probably a pipe dream. But at least the 9-1 Aero sounds interesting.
