The Hamann people have been busy the last week or so, showing off packages for the Murcielago LP640 and BMW X5. Well, here's a third for you: The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti by Hamann features a new exhaust system that provides added bellow to the V12's already-sonorous tailpipe music. It would not be a Hamann deal, of course, without an aero package, either. In this case, it looks quite tacked-on if you ask us. We're not crazy about how the company's "Edition Race" wheels look in this application, either. New springs and full interior customization are also available. Oh, and that Hamann decal on the front bumper? Ridiculous. Make it go away...now. We generally like a lot of the stuff Hamann does, but in this case, maybe they should have left well enough alone. We'll take the exhaust and leave it at that. Well...if someone gives us a Scaglietti first, that is.

I fully agree with Autoblog. All of it seems tacked on and that sticker is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. The shaved front end of the 612 is pretty awkward looking, too.

Fully agree. I liked the Novitech F430 so much better. This does seem too... artificial for a Ferrari.

Wow, 2nd picture right by the tailpipes. Looks like a low quality bodykit for Civics.

Ew yeah. The whole thing looks pretty riced out to me. All of the visual additions just look glued on and tacky. And they took the Ferrari badges off

You drive a 1.4 liter engine that probably pushes a adrenaline pounding 80hp and you are bored with Ferrari?
Poor Hamann, they tried to fix an ugly car, and it was just beyond their abilities...

lol..

I don't like it.. I prefer it with no external mods, just engine modifications. Leave the exterior stock. Should be all Italian on the outside, not add Japanese flavour.

This is pretty typical Hamann, which I'm getting tired of now.

Haaaaaow! That's horrible. It's so sad what Hamann does to beautiful cars. They screw up boring cars too... Are there any examples of quality Hamann work?

The 599 is perhaps their best (read as least worst) work...

I reckon the Hamann kits aren't that bad at all, but its just that this 612 kit and the LP640 kit was a bit tacky.

Amen to that. I know they want to draw the attention to the car and not its surroundings but damn is that dull and past the point of old to look at. They also really need to come up with some new wheels. Badly. I'm getting sick of seeing those wheels on every freakin' car that Hamann comes out with. This 612 isn't really THAT bad, its just not good. The body kit isn't great, although the side profile shot doesn't make it look too terrible. Some original/innovative kits/wheels/photo locations would definitely be nice though.

It's not that they're unattractive so much as just used on wayyy too many cars.

I agree. Hamann needs to be more creative with their wheel designs and wallpaper background
