Shit, I hate wasting time on video games, but this looks too awesome not to get. The Colin McRae game I had for PC was amazing, this one hopefully will follow.

No cockpit view, superhighway wide rally roads, simplistic physics... looks like grade A bullshit

Pretty narrow road too, and the physics don't look too shabby in the first video once he's in the hood view, and then cockpit near the end.

I downloaded the demo for this tonight on the 360 and played just the demo for almost 2 hours straight. The cockpit view along with all the others is amazing and the gameplay is probably one of the best racing games I have played to date.

I just played the demo on the 360. There are SO many modes and variety of off road racing that it's unbelievable. These are the BEST graphics I haev ever seen in any racing game. The cockpit view is just something else entirely. Extremely detailed for each vehicle with the proper working gauges and brilliant animation and ohmyshit your feet actually move on the proper pedals.

The gameplay is pretty much like other Colin McRae games. Which is to say extremely fun.

The only people who I can imagine not liking this game are those douchebag elitist "realistic" "gamers" who go around touting the GTR series of games as the only proper "simulation" around.

just played the demo on Xbox360 the graphics are great, the physics took 1 lap to get used to, i dont know how the other colin mcrea games felt but in this one the car wants to kick the back end out all the time...doesnt look or feel too realistic until you get a hang of how your supposed to be driving...its a diffrent feel from forza or GT untill you get used to it, but like i said it only takes 1 lap

Sorry for being an ass. I have been burned by stupid console games and idiots playing GT4 and claiming it to be the end-all of games. I currently have no respect for any console racer, before looking at it at all. I know that's dumb/unfair and I should give them a chance but so far I can't think of one that's ever been satisfying. I've played GT3, GT4, Microsoft's rally game, Forza, Colin McRae 3 (CM3 was dreadfully arcady), and more and found them to be the 13-year old's idea of what rally driving is like. People seem more interested in motion blur and whether or not the brakes glow all the time than much else.

Obviously the pictures showing the cockpit view were not there when I looked at the game. In my defense the roads (esp. dirt tracks) are MILES wide. The stage lengths seem right. Lots of other things seem right about it too.

You must understand that I come from the opinion that console racing games are cock before being convinced otherwise.

I partially agree with Frederf. Racing games are garbage in terms of realism, and will be garbage forever. There are obstacles that you just can't overcome with the games on a computer or console. I still enjoy them, however, because they're just fun...

ive always thought colin mcrae has been arcadey from number 1 ok if you want to have some fun.The real rally game out there is richard burns rally! I seen it for 99p in gamestation the other day think I may grab it for the pc seeing as I sold my xbox off a while back.
