I've never seen one. In fact I rarely see the new GTI's.

I'm a total GTI nut and I strongly dislike the MkV. It's too big, too isolated, and they ruined the steering.

I'm a total GTI nut and I strongly like the MkV. It didn't feel much bigger than the MkIV, the interior was decent quality, the ergonomics were good, the seats were comfortable as fuck. The steering sucked at low speed however because of the electroassist but I hear that can be disabled with a VAG-COM (read: m4dh4x0rz)
Despite being down a fair bit on power, the GTI will be the discerning driver's performance Golf of choice. The R32 is so damn heavy and only available with DSG.

There is not such thing as the discerning driver's Golf of choice in the MkV generation, and I don't think there will be. The GTI's closest but it's still pretty lame compared to its competitors.

I've driven most, if not all, of it's competitors and it most certainly is the car of choice for the discerning driver (in that price range)
Perhaps you have to be over 30 to appreciate it
