Isn't it FIA safety protocol for the drivers to stay in the car in a rainy low-visibility situation like that? A couple people almost got smashed against the Armco trying to get the drivers out.

There was another video of a very similar situation in GT raing and all the drivers just sat in their cars while more kept slamming into them. Unless the car was on fire or the driver's side of the rollcage was ripped off, I know I'd want to stay in the car.

I can see your point PBB, but if someone were to lose control at not be able to shed much speed and hit a car head on or T-bone the drivers side, I sure as hell wouldn't want to be in the car. Get out at what looks to be a sensible time and run for the nearest cover.

I hope someone lost their job over this, it should have been red flagged way earlier.
