Some of you may be familiar with this, some of you may not, so here's for those new to it:

WhatPulse is a small application that just sits in your system tray, and counts how many times you click your mouse, hit any key on your keyboard, and the total distance your mouse moves. It has a small memory footprint of about 5 megs, and it runs all the time. Using it will not:

1. Help SETI find aliens
2. Fold proteins while your cpu is idle
3. predict the weather over the course of millenia
4. contribute to society in any significant way

But it will do one thing:

1. Let you prove how l33t you are on a computer.

Now, this has been around for a while, so a lot of forums/groups/irc channels already have a team, and are in the millions of clicks/keys/miles on their stats

Steps to showing off how much you really use your computer:

• Pulse!

I remember having somthing similar to this a long time ago. I used it to bust my sister using my pc while she was telling me otherwise. I would write down the last number of clicks and see if it had changed when I came back.

Haven't had this installed for almost a year now. I reinstalled and joined the team now though and I'm already in 4th it looks like.

Mac version's not supported on Intel, which is the standard for modern Macs? Low-grade.

Somehow I missed this the first time around. I got it installed, this is pretty interesting. I did 5,227 keys, 2,385 clicks, and 0.27 miles in one small gaming session. I'm pretty pumped to see how far this will go in a month

They recently updated both the Win and OSX versions, and the mac developer is pretty active in the forums trying to sort out the issues...his latest recommendation is to try: http://whatpulse.org/downloads/mac/WhatPulse_1.1.zip

Or you could just buy a real computer.

Guess its just for me but my Whatpulse thing keeps hanging up everytime it tries to update the stats.
