Considering modern Astons are the MOST boring cars that comparsion is quite unfair.

This is the most beautiful modern car I have ever seen. I will make it my lifes goal to drive this car one day.
PBB
Hawt.gif My absolute favorite modern car and the only "exotic" I could ever see myself owning. Where's the V8 coming from? Hopefully the 8C gets the next-gen Maserati flat crank V8 and transaxle, but that's just unfounded wishing on my part. Hawt.gif
Asher
At first I almost hated it, but the more I look at it the more I like it.

And the V8 is being co-developed with Maserati.
clarkma5
Thank god. The 8C Competizione is so pretty it makes the Brera look like a dog.

It's so good looking it makes you even look uglier... and that's a fucking near-impossible thing to do!

my mom says I'm handsome :/
Frederf
No she doesn't.

Niiiice! Should look even better IRL. And a good thing they finally want to go back into the US market. Does Alfa still mean something to a US car nut? I'd guess yes, but I'm not sure. I hope they'll get a good dealer and service network set up by then. Very mixed bag our Alfa dealers here in Germany...

While we are at it, pleeeeease Mr. FIAT also bring the new Fulvia as you promised. And don't dare screw it up!

The dealerhips will be Alfa/Maserati.

The are only 42 Maserati dealerships in North America (US and Canada.) His comment about establishing a large reliable Alfa Romeo dealership network is a very valid concern here in America.
bing5500
I have a Maserati dealership within 20 miles of where I live in Atlanta...the minute this car hits the states I will be staking out that place to get photos! Absolutely beautiful...

42 sounds a bit thin, but depending on the numbers they want to sell that could be enough if they start with the the 8C only and market that to a handfull of enthusiasts. Doubt the car can be priced very attractively if it's low volume though.

And if they plan to bring over some volume stuff -- which they should, I think the 159 could do well in the US as an alternative to a BMW 3 series -- they'd better be ready to serve the demanding US customers.

Would be usefull to train a few people on how to change cam belts on the V6 and TS engines for example wink.gif .

Finally, why did it take them so long to decide to make this? It's absolutely stunning.

The talk is for the Brera, 159 sportwagon/sedan and the 8C to be the first models and 42 dealers will be very "thin." It'll be interesting, to say the least.
Asher

The worst thing is going to be hearing us Americans trying to pronounce Competizione.
infinity
Have they announced the prices of these things for the US market? And holy crap the convertible version of the Competizione is even sexier than the coupe (which is a mighty feat in itself)

That does not compute.
Renesis
wooooow

I always LOVED that car, and hated JC for saying the Brera looked better, I sure hope Alfa will bring this to north america if they ever make that comeback!

GORGEOUS!
leif
I think the 8C spider is the only car I have ever seen that looks better as a cabrio than it does as a coupe, which isnt to say that the Coupe isnt beautiful...

Production Details?

QUOTE(LLN)
Specifications have apparently leaked online for the production version of the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, which will be on display at the Paris Motor Show later this month. The car will feature a 4.7-liter Maserati V8 engine, producing 450 horsepower at 7,000 rpm, with 347 pound-feet of torque at 4,750 rpm. The transmission is a six-speed dual-clutch. The car will ride on 20" wheels and feature a limited-slip differential. Volume is expected at 500 units annually.

Yummeh!

yummy?

Dual clutch = automatic
Asher
Yes, but is a fucking kick ass automatic.
Diesel
OH DEAR GOD.

http://www.autoblog.com/2006/0...e-web/

The production version of the Alfa Romeo 8C Competitzione makes its debut in a couple of weeks at the Paris auto show, but thanks to Spanish site km77.com, photos and details are out on the web for all to see.The car is driven by a Maserati-sourced aluminum 4.7L V8 making 450 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of twist. A six-speed gearbox with paddle shifters channels power to the rear wheels and can also be operated in full automatic mode. Like the engine, the car's suspension is also a refugee from Maserati.

How does it look? Well, pretty much just like the concept, which is a great thing as far as we're concerned. This is the sexiest machine to come out of Italy in years. Comparisons to the TZ coupes of the 1960s are completely understandable, and the 8C Competitzione has "instant classic" written all over it. You couldn't have scripted a more triumphant return to the US market for Alfa Romeo than with this car, a showstopper in every way.

Flaw
Either the headlights changed, or I don't remember the concept well, but it looks even sexier now!

moe
HOLY SHIT!!! Fuck the 430 Spider, this is my new dream car. They better build the drop-top too though.

On a side note...I preferred, the concept's rims.

Maybe you're thinking about that Diva Concept, which had similar shaped headlights, but were LED.
Phix
Aw, they altered the rear end slightly.

I wanna see it in other colors biggrin.gif

A white one would look absolutely stunning.

A yellow one can't be that bad.

Blue would be ok.

Silver would work but that it's... it would work. Nothing special.

I can even imagine a dark pearlescent green.
goota
I think I would bust a nut if I saw it in a dark grey color.
Asher
I love it except for that stupid little vent on the front fenders.

Acoording to Diesel's chops, it looks absolutely amazing in white, and pretty good in black, but I think I would have to go with the red if I werelucky enough to buy one, just because... it's an Alfa Romeo. And I prefer the wheels of the concept, but I'm not going to complain, this is still one of the sexiest cars ever.

If ever it came to a time (and hopefully one day it will) where I can legitmately purchase this vehicle I would have the hardest time ever deciding between white or red.

Or I could just by two... yeah, I like that idea...

I just hope it's not the old Quattroporte paddle shifter and the new one they developed.

But something tells me no. :/

Hopefully they'll lift it out of the Ferrari 430, I heard the one used in it is a lot better than previous uses of the Magnetti Marelli shift it uses.
