I'm looking for a good digital camera in the sub $400 price range to replace my Samsung Digimax 350se. My mom stole it a while back, and now she's offered to buy me a new one. I'm more concerned with picture quality and features then the size or appearance of the camera. Any ideas?

Anything with Canon or Nikon on it will at least be decent.

I second the Sony P200.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 has a ton of features for the price. The only downside I see to it is that it is a tad large. If you're looking for something compact like the P200 this wouldn't be for you. Its not a pocket camera.
- 6.0 mega pixel
- 12x zoom
- image stabilization
- lens thread (so you could use filters if you wanted to)
- Shoots in TIFF
- 2.5 in LCD
Good luck with whatever you decide on.

I just bought a Sony DSC-H1 for about 350$, I am very happy with it. Very comparable to the panasonic mentioned above ^

Canon cameras for me are optimal
You could take one used of G series---G3/G5/G6
Incredible lens and more control for compact cameras.

I just got the sony p200 for 204 with tax at office max. They're actually selling it for 230 at their stores, but i used a circuit city 40 off 200 coupon that they honored. If anyone wants to try the coupon out, i'd be willing to post it since i actually had to buy it off of ebay
