I had an old alarm clock next to my computer (it was put there so I physically have to get out of bed to turn it off) that I threw a lacrosse ball at and nearly broke my monitor one morning

Now I just use the alarm on my phone because it's deathly annoying.

nice job you did there cyclone!
i have a special clock for me(im hard of hearing, but after i take off my implant, im deaf at night) that has a vibrator which i can put under the bed and it sometimes wakes me up, but it also makes the light flash as well. anyway one morning, it wakes me up and i turned it off and went back to sleep and then it woke me up and it pissed me off so i punched the fuck out of it. it was still going off!

Clark, does that make a really loud, electronic beep? I had one with large digits like that which was very loud and horrible; yet effective.

Even that doesn't work for me.
Getting out of bed, walking over to my alarm clock on the other side of the room, turning it off and going back to bed
without waking up used to be fairly routine. Many times I'd wake up hours late and discover the alarm clock cord was unplugged.
So I bought one of those electrical outlet timers that turns on my lamp a few minutes before the alarm goes off.

Just to counter that i had my phone set to ring 5 minutes after the alarm clock and TV set to go off a minute later. Still managed to be late for a exam.

My alarm clock is across the room from my bed just because there's really no other place to put it. What happens to me is that I'll spring out of bed to turn it off and, due to standing up so quickly, I'll get light-headed and lay back down on my bed...sometimes falling asleep again.

I tried the alarm-clock out of reach routine. Turns out, if I stretched far enough I could reach it without getting out of bed.

That rarely happens for me.
Maybe 1 in 15 times I will feel great getting out of bed. For the entire sleep cycle, from REM though Stage3, takes about 1,5hr. Somehow, I can never work it out to wake up during pre-REM stages so I can be energized
