Ok, VW continues to leak out more and more info/photos of the next Golf. Despite a couple little niggly complaints about it on my end (the steering wheel for the most part, and that fact that it's gonna come standard with the same 'ol measly 195/56R15s) I really really love this car and am dreaming about it damn near constantly.

The US will get the 240 HP 3.2 liter VR6 (probably with standard 4motion AWD) as the top engine, with a 2.0 liter turbocharged four with about 200 HP/200TQ and a base engine with 150 HP +/- 10 (either a 2.0 liter FSI four-cylinder or a new inline-5.) Also available will be a 16-valve 2.0 liter TDI with 137 HP and 236 ft./lbs. of torque. There is a good chance the old 8-valve 1.9 liter TDI will also be available with 100 HP and 177 ft./lbs. of torque.

Transmissions will be all 6-speeds (standard manuals with optional tiptronic or DSG on the VR6/2.0 TDI.) and 4motion will also be available on several models. The car has grown noticeably in dimension (one of my favorite improvements is the +2.6 inches of rear seat legroom) The car will be heavier than the former model, but not by much (another 100 pounds maybe?) and more power/new suspension/bigger brakes should mostly negate that weight gain (would still like to see it lighter, but whatcha gonna do?)

I dunno...I ain't to much fond of the design...imo they should have changed it even more .....I like the new Opel Astra C better....

The highest engine in europe will be the 3.2 liter VR6 I believe, just like here. Their lowest engine, though, is a 75 HP 1.4 liter FSI...and therein lies the difference.

Wow very nice. Sounds like that thing would be a blast to drive around, especially with 240hp and AWD on something as small as that. And a very nice looking interior too, but i would choose a normal tach over what they put in there.

Well, I would find it easy to live with one off or on as well, I'm just saying that I'd prefer it on.

I could also live with an axe-murderer chained up in the guest room, but I prefer not to do that either.

What I can't stand on a car is Clear Taillights.

There are a couple cars where I think Clear tailights are ok, but I would still prefer normal red taillights on those cars (the Lexus IS300 and the Nissan Altima).

to this day , i cannot understand what SVT was thinking with clear taillights on the Lightning.

Can you replace them with older ones or normal F150 ones?
