and i havent had one for years. I used to use AVG a long time ago but I heard it sucks now. What should I use to scan and get rid of it? I use spybot on a regular basis. I also did a search on DS and I am running the online scanner by trend micro that Dylan posted a long time ago and I am downloading mcafee from bittorrent right now too, may try that out.

I hear mcafee is good, I haven't ran any type of anit-virus since I built my computer. Well mymaybe spybot once or twice, and I use microsfts Defender too.

Yeah Housecall is good for a free online scanner, that's why my roommate uses since he doesn't like installing them, I've always used McAfee or MS OneCare and find they both work well.

I tried the housecall thing before mcafee, it stopped loading on both firefox and IE.

Sometimes if i get one i'll just restore from a windows checkpoint...seems to work although it sucks if you've saved anything important between the checkpoint and whenever you restore it. (this is all after i try all my scanning programs)
i used to have AVG also but now i use microsoft anti-spyware and Norton anti-virus (i dont particularly like norton)
