Ugh, I want a good picture. But yeah, you can tell the headlights are gonna be ... interesting...

I went into photoshop and played around with the image...
I added the lower grille and foglights...

This is how the headlights ended up...

I found this on carspyshots....

Then I found this one on Autoexpress.co.uk
Looks pretty slick, can't wait to see the rest of it. I'm still crying over a 2000 Audi TT 225 Quattro coupe with a manual I was offered yesterday, for a very reasonable price. Dad wouldn't let me get it because he wants me to keep my car for at least two years, since he paid for it...

I just started to like TT's and think some are sexy.

Could be amazing, could not be. This looks promising but the spy shots made it look kinda bleh.
April 6th!

Now I have something to look forward to on April 6th! Other than my g/f's 21st and our 3rd anniversary.

Seriously, I can't even keep track of how many design awards it has received since it came out. I love it, but I'm way too tall to ever own one.

Ever since it came out I've hated it, never liked the shape of it at all, and I'm sure this one won't be much different for me.

The original TT always struck me as pretty, but more a toy than a serious car underneath. A lamb in wolf's clothing, but you could still see the white fluffy stuff poking out.
The new TT is far more stately and elegant than the original "toy" model. In the process of being more grown up and subtle, it's gotten a heck of a lot more boring.

I'm 6'6 and sat in one at the autoshow a few years ago...it was just too small, and I felt like my ass was too close to the ground

Looks pretty nice. I was hoping the side mirrors would be more integrated and flow with the lines of the car rather than the protruding/pole-type mirrors they went with. Oh well.

Is that 6' 2'' Canadian? I'm 6' 4'' and I felt really cramped in the coupe.

I fit inside the TT well (I'm 6'2" as well) but visibility is a little iffy with that low roof and high beltline.

I'll like it if all of the posers in the UK, don't get there wang out for it! Which is likely, so I won't like it.

I think it looks very expected considering what Audi's typically look like nowdays.

Mar 9 2006, 05:34 PM
The TT has always been a very interesting car to look at, even at several years old, the design hasn't aged significantly. And yeah it has won numerous design awards....but apparently Audi is choosing to keep it safe by not altering the overall design a lot. Problem is...it looks pretty dull now, I kinda expected another groundbreaking car..i guess not

Are they really? It's just the old headlights in a new shape, the teaser shot has the same spread patterns.

Mar 11 2006, 10:41 AM
No they don't. They have a downward curve on the top part. You musn't have looked at the picture that well.

Mar 11 2006, 10:44 AM
If you mean the shape of the headlight itself- that part is wrong I guess-but the spread pattern did stay about the same. It still looks better than if it did slant down towards the grill though. Screw Audi, I like this.

Mar 11 2006, 10:46 AM
That and also the layout of the lights are wrong as well. You can clearly see that there is the large HID on the right, and the smaller DRL on the inner left side. The turn signal will most likely be the bottom row; with the reflector running paralell on the headlight on the outer right side... Of course, all would be opposite for the passenger side..

Basically, somebody at Audi said "we have to freshen the TT but we can't change the way it looks" and this resulted. I can't blame them, really, the old TT was a design phenomenon; you don't go around messing with success.

Oh, I think the new version will look great. Besides, while the current TT is a timeless design, it's starting to look it's age next to the newer Audis...looks great next to everything else...but old next to new Audis...

I like it. The old coupe looked like a New Beetle that was slightly squashed. This new side profile is much more attractive, in my opinion.

Mitlov, I know exactly what you're talking about! I used to be in love with the TT, but then one fateful day I saw a silver one parralel parked on a street right behind a silver VW New Beetle...ever since then it hasn't been the same between the TT and me.

Aha, now you just realize that if you compressed (or flattened a NEw Beetle) it would look just like a New Beetle (look just like an Audi TT).

I think the TT is one of those classic designs which is gonna be around for a long long time.
I have often compared it to the 911 in that way...it will be evolved rather than changed.
Which makes me wonder...these pictures of testing which have been released which dont look like that...what are they? maybe some type of A4 coupe...and CC?
