There is no suck thing as a Passat 4 door coupe, that is also a rendering of what they thought the Passat would look like, and the S class is just another rendering. It is DEFINATELY a render. It is a photoshop of a Passat. That makes it a render...moron. It basically looks like it was a render, and autoweek was like "Hey, we need something new... *digs in archives*" And yeah, why the hell would volkswagen make a Passat "4 door coupe" when they have a ... well.... 4 door SEDAN. One of the points I was trying to make was THERE IS NO FUCKING WAY THAT A 4 DOOR CAN BE CALLED A COUPE. Okay, you have a nice day/life.

Uhh no. There are actually plans for a CLS-style "coupe" based on the Passat architecture. It would compete in the segment above the Passat in Europe. Which would pitch it against the BMW 5-series, Merc E-Class, Lexus GS, etc. I read this in the December issue of Autocar. I don't have it with me right now, as it's at my parents' house, but I'll see if I can find another source that confirms this.

VW has confirmed that they will be building a 4-door CLS-style coupe/sedan thing that will be more expensive than the Passat and be based on its chassis, and the odds are good it will revive the Corrado name.

It's still not a given; VW could kill the project, but at the moment it's a go.

Don't worry, they're also gonna make a proper Eos-derived 2-door coupe and call it the Scirocco and it will have GTI/R32/R36 mechanicals...it will carry on the feel of the old Corrado just dandy.

Plus there is the Concept R to look forward to and perhaps the GX3. VW is gonna be a great place for the enthusiast to shop in the coming years, supposing they don't fuck everything up.
