Are you kidding, if you have a good graphics card the graphics are so much better. I still haven't bought it, one of my roommates has it, maybe one of these days I'll buy it, but I'm put off by the fact that it doesn't have bots in multiplayer for LAN play and what not...that's so stupid.

I'm kind of regretting the purchase now. It's a fun game'n'all but I kind of wanted World of WarCraft instead... I didn't know it came with one month of free gamage.

even after the updates ive found its still incredibly buggy, and some servers will just lag, even when i have a ping of about 15, otherwise it would be a great game, i just cant put up with the constant problems i have with it. My friend experiences the exact same problems so it cant just be my computer.

BF2 fucking rocks, anyone who says otherwise is a huge Dbag, even though it has its bugs, it still is way better than alot of online FPS out there. and EA should be release patch 1.2 pretty soon, XD i cant wait.

I've got it. It's the best online FPS. Simple as that.

Though, EA is a bunch of money-milking whores, who doesn't care about customers, but only to make their wallet slightly bigger. I'm talking about the booster packs they're gonna release soon. $10. $10 for three maps (on each of two packs), some new weapons (which probably wont be any better then the original weapons), and a couple of new vehicles. It's things they would send out free of charge in a patch, back in '42! It's not that $10 is a huge amount of money, it's the principle in it!

I loved BF2, untill the "Special Forces" pack came out, then I was constantly owned by assholes with crazy weapons which would kill in 2 shots, and not be effected by re-coil...then i bough SF and got quickly bored with it.

Instead of buying anymore games, I think I'm just gonna buy an X-box of my own and Forza it up...

l hate how it requires pixel shader 2.0 It's the only requirement keeping me from playing it.

Haven't played it in awhile though busy with skooling.

I thought I was alone on this. . . and I have a 3700+, 7800 GT, 1 GB PC3200 Ram blah blah, so it's not my setup. Then again I don't play it as much since my friends don't have powerful enough systems to run it smoothly so I don't have anyone to play with and it gets boring if I play with anyone I don't know.

Well you got a sweet graphic card even with my 9600XT it runs oke....not butter smooth though.
Only flaw in BF2 is the huge load time.

I have a 3200+, same ram as you, and a 6800GT, and BF2 looks beautiful on my computer...

the problem with yours is.... you just suck.

On my P4 2.6GHz, 512 DDR RAM, GeForce 6600GT crap computer, it runs great with all the important settings on high in 1024x768.

I was just wondering if anyone still plays this, and what servers you guys play on if you have favorites that you go on a lot? i just got back into it after not playing it since october. I play on a server called disintigration or something, but other than that i just find a server i dont have any fav's.

The thing i hate in this game is the loads and the fact that even tho i bought a brand new ATI Radeon for the game i still cant have it on medium without the loads taking an hour or majorlag

Yeah I know what you mean, the load times are pretty annoying. Although I mainly play Karkand as you can see from my stats, so it's only like every 10 rounds or something where it needs to reload the level, and the 24/7 Karkand Destruction server does the maps in it's rotation 4 times (twice on each team) before changing maps, so it doesn't seem so bad.

BS2 is great, probably at its best now that euro force and subsequent patch is out. Finally the noobtube suicide run has been nerfed I still find Oman to be mist fun, it's varied and particularly fun toplay as special. Karkand and Wake are two more favorites, though mostly play armour or anti tank there.

Load times are to a large extent ram dependent, I run AMD64 3200 with 2Gb and I'm usually among the first to spawn - takes a lot longer on my school comp, a P4 3.2 with just 1Gb.

As for graphics, aside from the curiously heavy SF maps, I run 1024 all high at a decent clip, usually in the 70 tp 80 range. If you have solid hw and not getting performance in BF2 check your Dx and drivers, EA is pretty much at the front so you need the latest stuff.

Yeah I know what you mean about load times, I also have 2GB and only a X700 for now, and I'm usually the very first, if not one of the first into the game.

I don't mind Oman, but not a huge fan of it just because of it's size, and it seems like everyone in that map is rolling around in tanks or APCs. So even if you try and run to a flag since it takes like a good minute to get there chances are if you haven't been killed by planes or choppers that some APC or tank will get ya. I just like Karkand because you can actually run and hide from tanks and what not because of all the buildings.

Although I do like Clean Sweep which is a fairly large and spread out map, but at least there they have a bunch of hills and what not that you can use to hide out of if need be.

I played the demo and then never really came back to the game once it was released. just not as into the whole huge team strategy fighting. didnt run amazing either.

Well that's the thing, a lot of the time I'll just join squads and do my own thing as a lot of people will do but every so often it's nice to be in a squad of 5 or 6 and actually move around as a team as you can do a ton more damage that way especially if you each have a different kit. I also like it because you can actually work towards something as you have ranks which give you unlocks, medals, badges, ribbons and so on that you can earn. That's what keeps me into it as you're always working towards something else. Although I hate flying planes, I suck so bad at it and I need 10mins in one in a round to get that medal.

You don't have lag playing on a european server?

Not usually, here in Halifax my ping on most servers is usually around 80, at most 120.
