I liked the look of this car...too bad VW never made a MkIV Jetta Coupe. Hopefully there will be a MkV Jetta coupe.

1552 Design did a cool Jetta Coupe conversion though:

Man a 2 Door Jetta... that would be bad ass!! (I like the Golf too though...)

Talk about bad-ass...the 1552 Jetta uses a 300+ HP turbocharged VR6 with all wheel drive and a 6-speed manual. STi beater, anyone? cool.gif

I think there was a 2-door Jetta in production up until about 1992 ... I think.

They were always one of my personal faves.

I say , bring it back !

The only Jetta Coupe is in the A2 (85-92)chassis(Also the A1 Chasiss but i think only from '80-84'). All of them came with a 1.8 8v engine with around 100 hp, or the diesel engine, auto or five-speed transmission, uhhh.. I'd like to say i'd love to own one. But i'd definity do an engine swap, give it some recaro seats, and a rear disc rotor conversion. Damn rare & very hard not to find a souped up one. Through-out the years they have "big bumpers" and "small bumper" changes.

My friend's fiance has a Jetta just like that last one. I'll have to get a pic next time I see her. It all in original condition, and it has actually been maintained very nicely.

No cat back or funky rims, yet. smile.gif

I was about to buy it, and get rid of the fart can... that one runs in my city, it's got 300hp at the wheels... i'd rather have bbs wheels like the first picture of my post.

Apparently they liked the design.

For those of us not in the know, what are the years for the Mk 3 and Mk 4 designs? Was this concept out before the Mk4's hit the market?
clarkma5
No, the MkIVs didn't come out until ~'98 in Europe and '99.5 in the US. The Mk3 was only three years old when this concept was introduced.
rio
Then this is a much bigger deal.

As I left work today, I notice a late 80's model coupe sitting out by Napa. I guess they are more common around here than I thought. I'll have to start carrying my camera around again, and see if I can spy some more.
