Meh, my motherboard is fucking up big time so that means I'll have to build a new computer sooner than I want to. I could RMA the board but I'd rather shell out a few hundred instead of waiting a few weeks to get a new board. I can probably afford everything I need with my next paycheck however I want some extra cash.

So any rich people here wanna donate me some money via paypal? Anything will help! Send donations to cyclone187@attbi.com

hey, it's worth a shot! Plus I'm a nice guy, I'd probably donate to somebody who posted on here needing help

I've got a spare Tyan S1854 trinity mobo with a 1 ghz P3 and 512 megs of ram in it if you care to have it tongue_orig.gif
Cyclone
If you wanna GIVE it to me, sure!
clarkma5
I'd consider it if you paid shipping.
Cyclone
Yea, I'll pay shipping!
clarkma5
Yes, but the question is, do you really want a four year old non-DDR mobo??? That's some zen shit right there.
Cyclone
I could find a use for it, sure!

If Cyclone later decides he doesn't want it, I definetly do. I've been needing to get a motherboard and CPU for a file server...
Cyclone
Shit, I've already wrote the check. So piss off tongue_orig.gif

My brother has the K7S5A, its a nice cheap board. Does everything you could want it to do exept overclock alot. You can also use DDR or SDR ram in it. (but not both at the same time)

I can't believe I just read that. As a network administrator and computer building addict, please take this advice. If it is an ECS, FIC, PC Chips, or DFI motherboard it is better off as a coaster than a piece of computer hardware.

For a very nice inexpensive board, get an Asus A7N266-VM.

Shuttle, Asus, Epox, Abit, Soltek, Soyo, and Gigabyte are all very trustworthy brands.

True, and I agree with that post, except for one thing which still is kind of iffy: DFI

They've improved quite a bit, but they still have many people who have bad tastes in their mouth from previous products, but DFI is certainly improving quite a bit.

Also on that good list, include Intel. They don't have any overclocking options, but are very stable and trouble free in my use.
mogulmonster
Definitely include Intel boards. I use them in every business machine I build. I guess my mind was just stuck in AMD land. smile.gif

I've also RMA'd 6 of the 10 of them that I installed from the past 3 years. Since I've started using ASUS I've RMA's 0 of 14, I've RMA's 0 of 48 Intel's, and I've RMA'd 1 of 6 Abits. Soltek is too soon to tell, I've installed 9 of them, and had no problems since they were in as of 6 months ago.

Don't take it personally, you don't own ECS. They are hit and miss boards, despite how they initially perform. (if at all)
