Unfortunate it's just in his driveway, but it sounds amazing nonetheless. The way it builds revs (and then loses them afterward) is insane...it seems like you can just tap the throttle and it'll hit ~5k or so.

Thats just glorious.. like it just came out of a Ferrari or something. I always associated the Porsche with more turbo-like sounds. This changes everything.

i love how those sound. they remind me of a big cat, like a panther or something. i finally saw one driving around today, but it was going like 2mph (pedestrian traffic)

I've seen a few around here, they sound.... hot.
One was weaving through traffic... I turned off my radio to listen to it.

Nov 9 2005, 03:53 PM
I think the guy was showing off at first...but the driver said that he has to keep the revs up or the engine will die

Nov 9 2005, 04:52 PM
Oh...didn't know that. I'd just thought it'd idle like any manual car and not die so fast.

why doesn't he just get somebody to raise the idle?

or fix it... if i had a 500,000 dollar car and my idle sputtered i'd get it fixed.

uhhh a Carrera GT will idle without dying.
With its pitifully small amount of rotational mass, though, it is extremely easy to stall, which I suspect the guy was talking about (aka, "I have to rev it while I'm moving it to keep it from stalling")
