I agree. I feel bad and all but enough is enough. I dont mind it so much now because I am kind of used to it but I really got sick of hearing all of the charity stuff for it about 2 weeks after it happened.

At least it's a break from all the terrorizm bullshit, I say. Don't have any form of cable/satellite service for my tv (just the gaming consoles and I don't get anything via air) so the only time I ever get to watch it is football games with some friends on Sunday/Monday at a local pizza buffet or when I go to do my laundry but it's rarely on the news. Hurrah for not getting the paper either.

Give it a few months and people will have Hurricane Katrina magnets on their cars.

I'm so damn sick of seeing the "support our troops" ones. When I first got here I got a job working at a detail shop. We would rip them off any car that had them and see how many we could get before the day was over.

No one cares about Katrina anymore over here. Not that it was very "popular" at any time.

At least you guys don't have to live with Katrina every day. I'm sick of it too but on an entirely different level. I want my life, job, house and cars back. You guys can at least turn the channel or focus on whatever the "big story" happens to be where you live. Not here.

It's getting better every day. New Orleans is coming back to life slowly. Metairie and most of the West Bank (Algiers) are doing very good. Lakeview near the 17th St. Canal levee breach is still really messed up as is New Orleans East but getting better. The 9th Ward and most of St. Bernard Parish still look like Mars and have about as many people there as Mars.
Life goes on.
