I'm trying to decide between FEAR and Quake 4 as my next game purchase. Any thoughts?

GTR was really good, but it's sorta the only game of '05 I've really played much.

umm... smash bros. ok, so it wasn't 2005, but its just the best game of all years.

but seriously, i think psychonauts was the best '05 game i played so far. (GT4 is in a class of its own... its up there with smash bros. timeless. more of an experience than a mere game.)

We rented "Destroy all humans" and its a pretty fun / funny game

GT4 is 2005? hmm i guess it is, I dunno I have had it for a while it seems like, but yeah GT4 pwns also.

Psychonauts was a good one.. Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory was also good. But I think Fahrenheit (Europe) or Indigo Prophecy (US, and maybe more) was the best.

FEAR without a doubt...quake4 is just like any other shooter.

is2scoogy, it depends what you're looking for. If you want a good story to follow then go with FEAR, if you want a shoot 'em up with a bit of story to it, then go with Quake4. All depends what game you think would keep you entertained longer.

Anyone know much about nfs most wanted I was told its gonna be like a mix between hot pursuit 2 and underground with like lambo's and Civic's. Speaking of that I hope E.A remember to put Hondas in the new one as they didnt in underground 2. And any of you that didn't play hot pursuit 2, you should it was awsome.

Yeah, I hate it when that happens. Anything before summer and it feels like it happened/came out 5 years ago.

my favorite game... hmmmmmm.... the only game i bought that came out in this year was Forza. the other games i bought were rise of nations thrones and patriots, and never winter nights, but those were old.

So Forza Motorsport for me.

after playing NFS: MW demo, i think its gameplay is much more fun than FEAR.

BG2 was the best game ever made. Since Obsidian has a lot of Black Isle guys, I hope they do well now. You could see shades of Planescape in KOTOR 2, with moral and psychological dilemmas as opposed to the first.

Though, you have to admit... KOTOR 2 was a huge flop. Krieya was a very well written character but most of the dialogue went to waste due to the stupid influence system. It's cool how you can 'influence' your party members to the dark side but I really wished they could have implemented the system a bit better.

The ending was also kind of crap.

Lionheart was a travesty.

Fallout 1 & 2 still remain golden.

I still need to get playing Planescape. The CDs have just been sitting in my closet for years.

The reason KOTOR was a flop was because it was rushed out the door by LucasArts. They had a real ending, they didn't have time to finish it. There was an entire part of the game having to do with going to the assassin droid manufacturing plant, it was cut. More happened with that little droid of Bao-Dur's and GOTO that was cut. A lot of shit was just cut because LucasArts wanted it out for the holidays and Obsidian wanted like 4 more months.

Get through Planescape. It's Baldurs Gate with a bit less fighting and it's much more depressive and mentally stimulating.

Those Assassin droids didn't really get resolved and I do remember reading sometihng about another ending. Not to mention the game had this huge unpolished feeling compared to the pristine shine of KOTOR.

Damn. Fucking Lucas.

Do any of you have Alien Hominid? Easily one of the best games I have played since NES.
