And that movie was Serenity. Just incase you don't know Serenity is the movie based upon the Scifi series that "graced" fox broadcasting, Firefly. I must say I wasn't too entralled with the series. Long story short its basically a space western about smugglers trying to keep away from an evil government. The character development was good but Joss Wheldon (bringer of such things as Angel and Buffy) had a pretty low budget. Basically it was a scifi series without the scifi which bugged me. I watch scifi to see the technology and the spaceships and the robots and lasers and whatnot.

The movie fixes all of that. I just got back and holy shit. Everything I didn't like about the series was almost instantly fixed by the movie. Wheldon got his budget to meet his characters and the whole thing is honestly one of the best movies I've ever seen. Its not just some hokey guns and lasers show but it has heart in it.

Well what are you waiting for?

GO SEE IT.

...Uh oh, I thought I was joking when I said "well, I have no problems with the series so I'll hate the movie" when you told me that the movie fixes what's wrong with the series...IMO, the lack of Sci-Fi is what makes it so damn good! It's not stupid because it's not brain-dead sci-fi, it's a character-driven, writing-driven drama that happens to be in space.

THAT IS WHY FIREFLY IS GOOD. YOU, SIR, PHAYLE.

I'll still see it though.

Well I had other issues, namely the sexxx.

None of that in the movie.

When I saw the commercial for it, I thought it was going to suck beyond belief. But it didnt.

The preview makes it look like a film with a big pair of testicles hanging from it, but the movie is NOTHING like that.
