Yesterday evening as i was enjoying the awesomeness of my G4 powerbook ... the old dog Dell got all emo and decided to kill itself !!! This is after i just replaced the fucking HDD and installed windows and all ..... Out of nowhere the something went crack-fizzle-pop-kablaam !!! Now i am PC-less ...

anyways, i have 2 options .... get a new mobo for the current P4 2.0GHz processor or get a new AMD 3400+ based medium range PC for $500 or so ... but i am not sure if the processor survived the boom .... whadya think ?? Any ideas how i can confirm the health of the processor ?

its a desktop box .... and the good thing is the mobos for those are dirt cheap so i can have it up and running for $500 or less with a new cabinet, power supply and without the fateful RDRAM

frys in plano on plano pkwy had an AMD 64bit 3200+ 754pin w/ an ECS mobo for 129.99 last time i was up there, might want to check that out man and just reuse the parts you already got

edit: nvm, just saw your comp is an intel w/ Rambus

congrats on the pbook, i might get one next year, or maybe an ibm notebook smile.gif
