We've evacuated from New Orleans to get away from this beast. Winds are now 165mph and they expect that every wooden structure will be heavily damaged or destroyed. That includes both my homes and my garage where Da Monster is hiding.
We're in Memphis now and may try to head to Arkansas tomorrow since the storm is still expected to be a cat 2 with 90+mph winds up here. Since I'm in a caravan of 5 cars with 6 dogs that may not be easy.
A local tv station is streaming their coverage at www.wwltv.com. You'll get a better sense of what's happening than you'll get from CNN or The Weather Channel.
Keep thinking good thoughts for us. A prayer or two is particularly appreciated.
