I agree with all of this except for bland. The car requires a certain blandness to have the whole sweeping elegance thing going on. Best looking car on the road, could possibly be usurped by the AMV8.

Whatever, all I know is that I find it attractive and boring at the same time.

Also, it looks like every other Aston Martin yet still isn't as good looking as a Vanquish.

The rear is far superior to the Vanquish. I think the AMV8, from the concept photos anyway, looks more aggressive without seeming ridiculous, and looks better than the DB9. I haven't seen the production model except for mules with camo though, so I don't know, I assume it's going to look almost exactly the same.

I know you were, I was inferring the AMV8 will be less bland.

Someone once said to me they didn't like Aston Martin's because the front looks like a fish. I tried to explain the catfish thing and it was totally lost on them. Squish face or not, the AMV8 (and the DB9) are the best looking cars I can think of without being XXTREME like a Lambo.

Theres an exotic car dealership about half a mile from my work place and i have been travelling that road everyday for the past 4 months and it was onyl yesterday that i realised they have a DB9 on display there !!! I always noticed the Jags and the Vipers and the Porshce but NEVER the DB9 .... its just so bland ...

Hm. Case in point of the blandness... I was leaving the bank one day and noticed in the parking lot a peculiar car. Boom-boom, it was an Aston Martin. I couldn't figure out what kind since they all look the same. Anyway, the thing that dawned on me is the fact that it blended in with the other ho-hum cars in the parking lot i.e. the Miata parked next to it did not seem out of place next to the the Aston Martin.

With the quick depression of the clutch and pressure on the throttle I was on my way back 100 dollars heavier.

DB9 is teh sex

DB9 is not bland IMO. The car stands out like Michael Jackson, without looking like him (shockingly ugly aka Enzo) It has a sleek smooth and conservative design that is eye catching at the same time. I love Astons.

and AM is defiantely not suffering from all the cars looking the same like Porsche is.
and each one looks fantastic IMO.

How is porsche suffering? they are reporting the #1 profits in the automotive industry...people who critisize porsche for having simmilar looking cars are idiots, probaly just used to car companies having all their cars look completely different (cuz some are dewoos and some are opels)

AM models look more different from each other than Porsche models do, to me anyway.

I see more difference between the Boxster and the 911 than the AMV8 and the DB9.

While I do think all Porsches look the same (minus the Cayenne obviously) I would have to agree somewhat with the sentiment that the new Aston Martins look the same as well. In particular the DB9 and the V8 Vantage. I do think the Vanquish is quite different however and remains the best design from the last few years.

With the DB9 and V8 Vantage let me put it this way... in a recent article in the Aston Martin Owners Club magazine they used a picture of a V8 Vantage for an article on the DB9. Now if people who are surrounded by Astons and are knowledgeable about the marque can't tell the cars apart then it shouldn't be surprising that people think they look the same.

thats probably because the engine is in a different place. if the boxster was rear engined, it would look(and probably be) exactly like a 911 IMO.

that is what i am pointing out. The boxster ONLY looks different because of where the engine is, the front looks identical to the 911.

The DB9 is quite a nice car, but as duke said it's pretty bland. Nothing eye popping here, although if the corner of my eye sees one i guess i could give it a glance or two.................or three................maybe four. My friend had a DB7 Coupe which was just pure hardcore sexy. Back with beige interior centre console was just ugly though.
