the seals will be shot, as will the bushings, and the interior, and the plastics....the huge premium is not worth it for an SC.
you have to remember, the second you put any significant milage on it...you loose 70% of your investent.
but its still a nice car

It's an '87, so it's a Carrera 3.2 with the G50.
And the car has been kept in a climate controlled environment...aka, out of the sun, so the interior avoided the UV light...which is what kills interiors. I'm sure the interior has been carefully kept as well. The bushings I can't claim to know about...
The car looks brand new. The guy who kept it probably thought of all that. Then again, maybe not. But the interior is definitely flawless.
And who says I wanted it as an investment? I wanna buy it and drive the fucker...it's a brand new Carrera 3.2!! Hell, I'll buy new bushings and pop 'em in if need be.

you noob! if you need $65K, you ask for $75K.

how much was the Carrera 3.2 new? $65K sounds like a lot for an 18 year old 911.

The Carrera 3.2 cost about $50k + options new in 1987, I believe.
Damn, this bastard is also selling two PRISTINE '94 928 GTSs...

even those 928's seem to cost too much to me.

Aug 23 2005, 02:27 PM
They only made a few hundred GTS 5-speeds and both of these examples are EXTREMELY low mileage and are just flawless inside and out.

Aug 23 2005, 02:28 PM
ohhhh. see i wouldnt have been able to ascertain that fact by just looking at them...
it seems like if they are that rare, that they would be worth a little MORE.

Aug 23 2005, 02:32 PM
Well, there are a lot of 928s to pick from...so it's not like the model is rare. Just this trim level. Hell, if you want a late-model 5.4 liter 928 you can get these with automatics semi-easily. It's just the 5-speed GTSs that are a bitch to get your hands on.

Aug 23 2005, 02:33 PM
why did they make so few manuals?
clarkma5
Aug 23 2005, 02:46 PM
Because the 928 was too expensive in its last years, so it didn't sell very well...and it was a GT car, so they sold mostly automatics anyway. It competed against the Mercedes SL and BMW 6/8 series instead of sports cars.

only 64 and 21 .... god damn. those hit around the 996 GT1 for rarity. dayum... that 911 is MINT.

I ahve heard that the 5 speed in the 928 is craptastic (excellence points this out every time they do a market update on the 928)

They're talking about the problems on the pre-'87 single plate clutch...the newer dual plate 5-speeds are fine.

I dreamt about 993 Turbos last night. Specifically, I dreamed I flew to Houston to look at a white one with beige leather but it turns out they had one with lower mileage that was silver over red leather and it was like

at first sight and I bought it and shipped it home

I don't think they were that expensive...but they were in that ballpark. Load it up with a few porsche options and you might've seen $100k on 'em?
I dunno...I'm just talking out of my ass

The house those cars are parked outside looks like the house Johnny Depp lives in, in "Blow" (2001). I cant find a picture to prove this so i suppose you will have to just remember.
