No, I'm not pulling a RedLine and flipping out cos I think I am wasting my life away on these boards.. but I quit dipping! For those of you who aren't familiar with it, its similar to chewing tobacco, but instead of chewing on the actual shredded leaf, you just chill with it in your lip.

So yeh, I quit. I physically stopped putting the shit in my mouth about two weeks ago after I had an epiphany .. I suppose I just realized that it was a really stupid thing to do and I regret starting it. Over the past two or so weeks the nicotine withdrawl was a lot more than I had planned and caused me to snap or flip out on some of you guys. So, just saying, sorry for that.

there is this one stand-up that Chris Rock did that was called something like "Niggaz Vs. Black People" (no offense to black people by the way). And around half way through, he was making fun of how "niggaz" brag about stuff that they do that they are obligated to do. Stuff like "I take care of my kids!!" and "I aint NEVER been to Jail!!"

Yeah, you bloody should. You don’t know what caused him to start, Peer Pressure or just curiosity, but he obviously started when he was much younger. Now he has matured and realised what a disgusting habit it is and he's quitting. That needs to be applauded and supported to show him that we know he can stay off it and not give in to the cravings. Stick at it Z0ne mate!

Peer pressure is just one big bullshit excuse .... ALL my friends smoke but i never ever so much as tried to hold a burning cigarette ever. I support him completely for trying to break the habbit but the fact remains that he was weak for giving into the addiction in the first place.

Yes but not as many people have as much self esteem and self confidance as you. People who don't feel as if they fit in or as if they won't get talked to as much are usually the ones that start or get tempted to start. Some people who don't quite exactly get asked to go hang out everyday by a bunch of friends might think to themselves "oh you know what, i'm gonna start smoking weed, because all the popular kids do it, and if I start smoking it and selling it then maybe they'll ask me to smoke with them and maybe they'll talk to me more often"

it spreads fairly rapidly if you've got cancer in your mouth. several people end up losing their lower jaw to it.

I tried Skoal once many years ago just for the hell of it. I'd been a pipe & cigar smoker for some time and thought that dip was kiddie stuff. About 15 seconds of that shit sitting 'tween my cheek and gum was about all I could stand. I got the head rush from Hell and damn near passed out. Since that day the smell or taste of wintergreen makes me wanna hork.

Why can't we be sober and do that anyways? And like... leave him there?

i never really got into smoking .. mostly cos of the taste it leaves in your mouth .. plus, i play los deportes so i need my lungs!
