In under 24 hours a hacker broke into google's (beta) video search and made a patch to let you watch non google supported videos on the search. Ouch. Full story here:

Under 24 hours... that's not only incredible, it's also really scary.

(BTW googles video search works really well, the only problem was you could only view 1/10th of the videos, it's amazing with the patch. )

the reason is was cracked so fast is that it's VLC with a bit of patching, so all the code is open source, except the google specific code

vlc may be a open source software but the bloody thing is amazingly bitchy to work with.
