Full Version: Lambo Gallardo Roadster
Dieselstation Car Forums > Parking Lot > The Car Garage

Apparently, there were a few "by invite only" events that took place last week under a cloak of secrecy at a few "choice" spots around the US. This is, apparently, the production version of the Gallardo Roadster, that will be unveiled later in 05.

Agreed! The body is less stiff and thus is the handlings worse, and it's normally just for show-off anyways. Although, this does look really good.

absolutely bloody right you are!

I'm sure the Engineers at Lambo did NOTHING to improve the Stiffness regardles of the fact that the F430spyder and the other competitors probably did

it still wont match the rigidity of the hardtop version.

If you have the money you aren't buying this car for racing it at a level where it really matters, you buy the car to enjoy it. Let's be honest, most of the people who can afford this car won't be on a track even 10% of the time!

you know this how?

most sports car's cabriolet versions have stiffer chassis than the coupe, dont you think they realize this and stiffened their spyders? and I'm sure during the planning concept for the gallardo that they already designed it to be an able convertible

pretty much every hardtop handles better than is convertible counterpart. to make maintain the rigidity they have to add extra components to the chasis which makes the car heavier and consiquently slower.

I wouldnt be surprised to find out that the Spyder would either outperform the coupe or be of equal performance, this is lamboghini not toyota
Jordan
if these cars were really meant to be the ultimate performers, there would be zero convertibles in the sports car/supercar classes. its just a fact that hartops are more ridgid than verties.

you're right, convertibles were never raced, regardless of the dozens of race cars Ferrari and maserati and all sorts of companies made.
Jordan
yeah, convertibles are for money making only. now, topless racecars on the other hand are another story.

You might be right. I know that the F430 Spider is good, but its also a little heavier (not much) and this probably is too. Of course in this class of cars there probably isn't much of a difference, but convertibles in general are less stiff.

All of these cars are inferior to my flywheel powered wankel super sled that can turn at 9 Gees and runs on smelly farts. Plus it has a 1/4 mile time of 7 seconds.
