i'm typing this with my left hand as my right arm is in a sling right now. as we were leaving our weekend place in picayune, ms sunday night i slipped on the last two steps coming down from our deck and fell directly onto my right elbow. i heard a cracking sound and felt terrible pain. we went to the picayune er and took x-rays. the break was plainly visible a couple inches below the ball joint where my right arm joins my shoulder. the dr. called at a comminuted impacted fracture of the humeral head. hurts like a mother. i will see an orthopedic surgeon today to see if surgery is required.

Bleh. That sucks. The only time I've broken a bone, was when I broke my ankle, and luckily it wasn't too bad. Well, get well soon, I guess.

the orthopedic doc says i got lucky... no surgery! i have to keep it in a sling and 3 or 4 times a day take it out and let it dangle and swing to keep the shoulder loose (my arm... you buncha sickos!). i go back in 2 weeks for more x-rays.

i am beyond happy! back to work monday!

Around here SOL means Shit Out of Luck... which I guess is right since the TA is a manual. The arm is feeling better today. I'm out of the sling for much of the day, off most of the pain meds and I feel it getting stronger. I go back to work Monday.

Er, you don't have a beater? The TA is your daily driver?
