I need to create a online repository and a front end leading to the main file dump. It doesnt need to be too jazzy as its for internal access only. All i need is some help on the code and a code to create a explorer type left side pivot tree.

Well, I thought I had frontpage at work but I don't. I use Dreamweaver at home. It's been so long but I think I can help you out with code.

go find a static site you like.. hit view source.. learn how they did it.

Why should your boss spend his money to train someone that has no idea what they are doing? Why not pay you to do what you know how to do?

he should hire someone for a few grand and get a bad ass site....

i am betting you dont work for a huge corporation ? Anyways, I am incharge of a project and making a site is part of that so its my job to get it up and running without making a fuss.

And if you do ever work for a large corporation and you give the above mentioned line to your boss, have your desk cleared beforehand.
