At the 2006 North American Auto Show (NAIAS),Detroit BMW is going to debut the M6 convertible which also will go on sale in 2006.
In 2007 the M5 station wagon will follow as the 2005nand 2006 production of the M5 sedan already has been sold. But after the success of the 5.7-liters-Hemi-V8 , BMW also wants to cover the US amrket with a more powerful station wagon.

I love that Touring Wagon, If I were gonna buy a M5, that would be it

bye bye Audi?
It's too bad they didnt drop that Lambo V10 that they were planning, that would have been great, but then again I can see why they wanted to keep the exclusivity of Lambos

OMG, an M5 wagon? WTF. And that 6-series convertible... actually... looks pretty sexy. Wow. Guess the 6-series design really DOES need to lose the top, imo.

Where did you get the idea that the M5 wouldn't be sold in the USA? What was the last M model from BMW that they haven't sold in the US? And "I do not htink they would release a car of that calibre in US"? Yea, Americans don't buy expensive enthusiast vehicles...nope, just GM & Ford for us (maybe dem Asian cars if y'all poor)....

On most sites I visit, you include a quote if you're not responding to the post
directly above you. Thus, when you're the tenth poster in a thread, it makes sense to quote post #1 so people don't think you're responding to post #9.

sorry to bump, but:
QUOTE
Autocar reports that BMW is planning both a cabrio and a lightweight version of the upcoming über-coupé, the M6, whose UK launch is in November.
The open-top M6 will arrive first and is likely to emerge at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September and turn its wheels on UK roads in summer 2006.
The car will use the same 19-inch alloy wheels and aero kit as the coupé, and house the same 507bhp V10 engine and seven-speed sequential gearbox. But instead of the coupé’s carbon fibre roof, overhead will be a multi-layered folding canvas that can stow electrically in 20 seconds at speeds of up to 20mph. Autocar’s sources suggest that the M6 Convertible could weigh 1,900Kg, which compares poorly with the coupé’s 1,710Kg.
The underpinnings are likely to be in a softer state of tune than the coupé's. It'll have slightly less aggressive suspension, gearbox and engine calibrations, and will accelerate to 62mph in just over five seconds. The price should make your eyes water: around £85,000.
But real speed freaks will want the CSL which isn't due until 2007. Autocar reports that BMW's M-division is experimenting with a lightweight body and lower suspension set-up, with rumours of a 50bhp power boost. No more news yet...
