i have been doing a few races in b-spec lately because im getting low on cash (2-3mil).. anyway, in the bspec control panel, there is a list of cars across the bottom of the screen, indicating the distance between vehicles, current place, and little pictures of the cars.. also, there is a letter indicating which car is yours.. to the left of that letter, from time to time, comes a red "arrow" looking thing.. it seems to be pointed to the left towards the car infront.. it usually appears when you come under 200ft to the car infront of you.. i have ruled out that this arrow means drafting because that would take one sick physics engine and theres no way you can draft from ~200ft... so, all of you GT4 players, help me out! :o

I always figured it meant drafting, but I never really cared enough to venture beyond that.

it cant be because i see the first place car has it sometimes.. and that would be a shitload of drafting all the way around teh track the the 6th place car

i think it might just be sort of a push as far as distance goes. whenever i see it pop up in front of me, im just about to pass the car ahead of me.

I'm on a quest!!!

I've read on GTPlanet that it means the car preceding the arrow completed a timed sector on the track quicker, from the last lap I guess?

kinda right......the car with the orange arrow is closing in, thats what it is.
You will see that just after you made your pit stop. Tires are blue and it takes a bit till you are up to speed again. The other cars or the car behind got green tires at that point and can run a quicker sector time than your car. That's all.

I've got a question, too. When I'm driving, the track looks blurry. It seems that the PS2 can't handle the game. When I'm in b-spec mode or replay it is all clear and nice.

Someone else with that problem?

It's a quicker section, shut off the map and you'll see what I mean.

I've noticed instances where it seems the PS2 is struggling to keep the frame rates above a certain point. Usually when first starting out in 6th place on a track with a busy background

I just thought it was the car rapidly catching up with the car in front, I mean drafting would be pretty hard at some of the distances it appears at!
