Gee --- I guess an Mercedes-Benz SLR ?? hmmm .... what gave that away ?
I would have guessed SLR anyway even if there was no SLR logo on the engine.

Now if they had a stickshift
Mr b00st
Dec 10 2003, 03:30 PM
haha... if you want a stickshift merc in the US you're stuck with a puny C class or SLK... and the stickshifts are crap. You're not missing much
clarkma5
Dec 10 2003, 03:35 PM
Well, they should obviously work harder at their stickshifts. I don't care how good their autos are, there's just no substitute.

I totally agree... two pedals is only 2/3 of the proper amount IMO. I'm not much for SMG's either... though who am i to talk my car has an autobox.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. But just because I've got an automatic doesn't mean I can't complain when there are no sticks.

Everyday supercar makes me go meh.

Dec 10 2003, 04:26 PM
every supercar? What about the S7?
DakianDelomast
Dec 10 2003, 04:29 PM
EveryDAY supercar. and the S7 makes me really go meh. Koenigsegg is where its at.
But yeah a supercar that's designed to be used everyday is no supercar for Dakian. I mean think about it if I want to buy something that costs several times more than someone's house I want it to be distinctive and totally impractial.
And besides the less trunkroom you have the more excuses you have to run to the grocery.

I think the S7's cooler than the Koenigsegg. I really don't know why, I normally don't like these weird hyper-exotics at all. I guess the Saleen is the exception.
I also love the Porsche Carrera GT, of course, because it's a Porsche.

I would prefer a more everyday, daily driven friendly supercar.
I'd want to be able to drive it to the movies... town.. grocery shopping.. the lot

Seriously though supercars are just for showing off. If you were really that enthusiastic about doing fast lap times or enjoying a challenging road anyone could do up their Skyline or EVO, WRX etc... modify it to the limit both power and suspension wise and it'll handle and go just as fast (if not faster in the Skyline's case) than any of those super cars.
Or am i the only sod here whos admitting to just wanting to show off and pick up more ladies with a Murcielago?

I 100% agree with Dakian... i much prefer the Koenigsegg, especially in styling. Sorry, I didn't read your response closely enough *slaps forehead*
The S7 is nice, but frankly looks brash and unrefined next to the Koenigsegg. The Koenigsegg looks absolutely killer in black

911 Turbo, of course. Not quite up to the peformance levels of the koenigsegg stuff, but still absurdly fast.

haha and i for one know about that. I raced one at the lights and it felt like i was redlining in reverse gear

I was behind a 911 Turbo on a twisty road recently...I was trying pretty hard to keep up with him and he wasn't even trying. It was quite funny

Yeah, maybe if it had a manual transmission.

I'd frankly rather ahve one of those twin-supercharged Aston Vantage V8's over the SLR... the Astons have more style
