i tried to hook up my PS2 to my $29 Pinnacle tv capture card. man the quality sucks. anyone know any other cards that are semi cheap and takes sharp clear pictures?

ive found a lot of has to do with the program you use. get DScaler and go into the settings and use the de-interlace options with some of the noise reducers. Ive gotten 100% better quality with dscaler than the pinnacle pctv software. i would also suggest using an s-video cable, because it will always look crappier than tv becuase it is stretched over more pixels and the svideo helps that a little.

ok.. but wait.. the PS2 doesn't have SVideo out.

....i have a ps2 cable that has the three component plugs and an s-video. it supports s-video out...

FUCK!!!! i just corrupted my memory card!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i was at day 500 too! BLUAHHHHH..

but at least i can play in 16:9 on Dscaler now. still.. fuck fucking fuck!

yeah ps2 supports s-video and component (i use component so i can play GT4 in 1080i high def)

well.. that just fucking blows chunks.. goddamn it i lost everything..

oh well.. time to go get component cables so i can just play it all over again the real way.
