So a good friend of mine just sold me his barely used "slim" PS2, 2 Sony memory cards, 2 controllers and GT3 for the bargain price of $100 Canadian. Score!!
Now I gotta buy me an RCA junction box (since my TV only has one set of RCA inputs) and get my hands on GT4.
Good-bye social life!! It's time to be a hermit.

Finally got everything hooked up. Delay was caused by the fact that I needed a switcher / splitter as I now have too many components connected to my TV end not enough RCA inputs. It's almost 2 am and I'm ready to have a go at it. (I went to the store today and picked up the switcher, some RCA cables and GT4)
What car is best to start off with?
I was thinking the '89 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 with AWD and 202 hp would be a safe bet. Unfortunately, I don't have any saved data from GT3 so I'm only starting out with $10,000. :sigh:
Also, what is the most efficient strategy to accumulate points with a <$10,000, POS car?

if you want a quick start, do the first liscence, you'll get a Polo. Use that as your first car

My progress so far:
Started off with an '89 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 and got it modded heavily.. but alas.. the car was not quite up to snuff in the power department when racing in the Professional series. Along the way, I picked up my A and B licences.
With my winnings from racing the '89 Mitsubishi, I then purchased an '01 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII RS (which is the lightweight model).
I have mildly modded this beast and it now has 426 hp, (not counting the nitrous) and with some weight reduction, it only weighs 1161 kg!
I have reached a top speed of 280 km/h with a constant feed of nitrous on the straight on Midfield Raceway where I can complete 3 laps in a mind-blowing 4 minutes and 10 seconds!!
You must try this car!! Amazing power and beautiful handling.

I have had GT3 for a while, and I'm only 75 or 76% done.
I don't have GT4 yet, my parents wont let me videogames anymore, but when i finally buy it, I don't know how I will be able to keep up with school and etc...

Just wondering if I have a problem with my GT4 disc..
While racing in the SS5 (Special Stage 5), the picture resolution temporarily deteriorates and the picture also gets a little shaky during the first few seconds of the race- then it goes away.
This is the only time this occurs when playing GT4.
Should I go back to the store to exchange the disc with another?

Yeah, my copy does that too. I think mine's did it in some other tracks also.

Its a bug in the game, I get it too.

Wow. You'd think Sony would have rectified this before releasing this game.
And yeah... I now notice that this phenomenon occurs during the start of another couple of races (but it is less severe) and also during some replay footage.
So I guess it's pointless for me to exchange my cd for another???

yes pointless, its a default in them trying to integrate hdtv's they ALL do it
