BMW 740Ld xDrive 2014 Review

BMW has announced the BMW 7-Series with advanced diesel technology for US, the 740Ld xDrive sedan, which will make its debut at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show.

Under the hood, the model has a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder diesel engine delivering a total of 255 bhp (190 kW) at 4,000 rpm and an impressive 413 lb-ft (559 Nm) of torque from a low 1,500 rpm to 3,000 rpm. It is matted to an eight-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. The BMW 740Ld xDrive can sprint from 0-60 mph in 6.1 seconds. Fuel economy estimates are not yet available, however, other models equipped with this engine have seen a 25 – 30 percent improvement in fuel efficiency over their direct gasoline-powered counterparts.

The 2014 BMW 740Ld xDrive Sedan will arrive in US showrooms in spring and pricing starts at $83,425 (including $925 destination and handling).
